Rotary Foundation Foundation Global Scholarship Grants for Development

The Rotary Foundation provides scholarship funds via its Rotary Foundation Global Grants. The grants support graduate-level courses or research that lasts for one to four academic years.
Host Institution(s): Any approved University in a nation with a host Rotary club or district not located in the applicant’s country of residence.
Level/Field(s) of Study: Graduate-level coursework or research in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution, Disease prevention and treatment, Water and sanitation, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, and Economic and community development.
Scholarship value/inclusions: The minimal budget of a global grant is $30,000 that can be used to fund the following items: Passport/visa inoculations, travel expenses (as stipulated in the grant’s conditions and terms), and school supplies. Tuition, room and board, Household items, and language training classes (but not if university acceptance is contingent upon improvement in proficiency in a language). A majority of the personal and miscellaneous costs can be are not covered through the grant funding.

Instructions for application:
Potential applicants are invited to reach out to the local Rotary clubs through their Rotary Club Locator tool to find out how they can be sponsored to receive the grant.
The Global Grant applications can be made online. The clubs or districts that sponsor the grant prepare the initial application, and the scholar fills out the profile online.
Global grant scholarships will be considered on a continuous calendar throughout the year. However, applications must be made at least three months before the date of departure so that there is enough time to allow for Foundation evaluation and process. *Each Rotary District/Club could have its unique timetable.

Selection Process

The Rotary Foundation Global Grants have their select committee.

  • Grant decisions are made based on the completed application forms and the interview sessions that follow those who have been shortlisted.

Rotary Foundation Graduate Programme for Study in the USA

District Grants

Rotary District 1145 Sports, GRANTS FOR MATCHING SPORTS

Any Rotary Club in District 1145 who wishes to help a young athlete or sports team in the local area is invited to apply for an award up to PS250.
The Eligibility Criteria

  • Grants are granted to disabled and non-disabled youngsters and groups.
  • The applicant must be 18 or younger to be considered eligible.
  • Grants should only be used to pay for specific equipment or kits and not for ongoing travel or training expenses.
  • People who are in support of this District 1145 Sports event will be the first to be considered.
