Heinrich Boll Scholarships value/inclusions/duration

Masters Study: Non-EU Students: EUR 850 per Month plus various individual allowances. Tuition fees in Germany are possible in certain circumstances.

Ph.D. Studies:

Non-EU Students: EUR 1,200 per Month plus EUR 100 Mobility Allowance per Month plus various individual allowances. Tuition fees are not available.

EU students: EUR 1350/month primary scholarship and EUR 100/month research costs allowance. Tuition fees are not available in Germany, but they may be limited in other countries.

The scholarship is granted for two years but may be extended up to half a year.

EU students: Maximum, varies EUR 649 plus EUR 300 per month in book money; tuition fees are not possible in Germany but may be limited in other countries.

Heinrich Boll Scholarships for International Students

International Doctoral Students who have earned the university admission qualification outside Germany:

  • The applicant must be accepted as a doctoral candidate by a German state or state-recognized university. The application must include proof of admission as a rule in Germany.
  •  Preliminary work must be completed by the date of application. A valid timetable must also be submitted.
  •  Priority will be given to Ph.D. subjects related to the Foundation’s focal points.

International Master Students who have earned their university entrance qualification outside Germany:

  • You can apply before starting your Master’s program or up until the end of the first semester.
  • A proof of professional qualification must be presented
